A case of cheating has been registered against bank officials of IndusInd Bank, Sector 22, for allegedly opening an account on forged documents.

According to the police, complainant Avtar Singh reported that bank officials opened an account in the name of his wife and daughter on the basis of forged signatures.

The police investigated the matter and a case against the officials has been registered at the Sector 17 police station.

One booked for cheating

In a case of cheating, the Chandigarh Police booked an unknown person for allegedly submitting a tampered cheque at a bank.

According to the police, complainant Balmohan, a resident of Baddi, village in Solan district, who alleged that an unknown person submitted a tampered cheque at Punjab National Bank, Sector 22.

The police said a Baddi-based company had given a cheque of Rs 8,000 to a firm and the cheque was cashed. Later on, the same cheque number was once again submitted at the bank following which the bank officials got suspicious and inquired with the complainant and found that it was a fake cheque.

The police after investigating the matter registered a case of cheating against unknown person at the Sector 17 police station and an initiated an investigation.
