In a hit-and-run case, an unidentified truck hit the scooter of a woman teacher in the Haibowal area on Saturday. The teacher, who was injured badly in the accident, died late last evening at the CMC Hospital. The deceased has been identified as Menu Mehan, a resident of Haibowal.

Munish Mehan, brother of the victim, told the police that his sister was returning home after teaching at the school. He received a call at 3:30 pm that her sister met with an accident.

He reached the spot and rushed her to the CMC hospital. The victim had suffered deep injuries on her head. Menu died while she was undergoing treatment.

The truck driver fled from the spot. The PAU police station registered a case against the unidentified truck driver in this regard. No arrest has been made so far.
