Jammu, May 26

It was a nightmarish experience for the students of Class X who had to struggle to find out their percentage and marks. The J&K Board of School Education (JKBOSE) after declaring the results of annual exams of the Jammu province in a hurriedly manner last evening failed to upload the same on its website for almost five hours.

The Class X result of the Jammu province was declared by the state school education board on May 25 around 5 pm, but unlike the Central Board of School Education (CBSE), which immediately after the declaration of results, uploads it on its website, BOSE failed to do it.

As a result, the students were kept waiting to see their results. It was around 10 pm, when the full result along with merit list was uploaded on the official website of the JKBOSE. “As soon as I got the news in the evening that Class X result has been declared by the BOSE, I immediately opened the official website to find out my percentage of marks, but unfortunately the result was not uploading,” said a student.

When contacted, Veena Pandita, Secretary, JKBOSE, said, “We had the results of Class XII of the Kashmir province and Class X of the Jammu province ready on May 24 evening and we decided to declare them on May 25 morning. After declaring Class XII result of the Kashmir province on May 25 we uploaded it also on our official website www.jkbose.co.in and www.indiaresults.com. But when we tried to upload the Class X result of the Jammu province, both these websites did not open properly. Then we decided to declare the result in the evening and uploaded it later,” she added.

“It is not possible for the school education board to tell the exact date of announcement of results of Class X and XII in advance,” the BOSE Secretary maintained.
