Australia to sign MoU with govt for sports training

The Australian Government is in an advanced stage of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Punjab Government for providing high quality sports training, said Australian High Commissioner Harinder Sidhu.

The Australian High Commissioner had called on Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal here at his official residence today.

Responding to the issues raised by the CM, Sidhu apprised him that the Australian Government was in an advanced stage of signing an MoU with the Punjab Institute of Sports to provide training to sportspersons and coaches to upgrade their skills.

She said that her government was also striving hard to ink another MoU with the National Institute of Sports, Patiala, on the same lines.

Badal sought cooperation from Australian High Commissioner in the fields of education, skill training, agriculture and urban development.
