Chandigarh, February 23

“I thought someone had burnt a cracker, soon I saw a man who was shot at running towards my shop, chased by three assailants brandishing guns” said Mahavir Sharma, an eyewitness, who is a tailor and has a shop at Burail.

Sharma said the accused was shot at twice in front of his shop after which he got scared and hid behind the counter to save himself. “I didn’t know what to do so I hid myself as the accused had fired two gunshots at the victim”, he said.

The victim was also assaulted by the accused. In a bid to save himself, the victim entered the tailor’s shop after which the accused who had their faces covered fled from the spot.
