Arun reappointed director, action against 12 players

Arun Dhumal was reappointed director of the HPCA Company at the annual general meeting of HPCA held yesterday. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Anurag Thakur, president of the HPCA and the BCCI chief.

The two-year term of Arun Dhumal as director had lapsed and he was reappointed. The HPCA that was initially registered a society but was now functioning as nonprofit company.

The members of the HPCA also discussed the hosting of the India- New Zealand Test match to be held at Dharamsala on October 16. This will be the first Test match to be hosted at Dharamsala.

HPCA spokesperson Sanjay Sharma said that discussions were held regarding arrangements to be made for players, match officials and spectators.

The members also decided to start the HPCA Club soon. There were over a hundred members of the HPCA club who had given Rs 2 lakh as membership but the club has not been made function as yet.

In another major decision, the HPCA decided to take action against 12 players on the basis of the disciplinary committee report. The House decided to impose a one-year ban on players including Chandan Kumar U-16 (Kullu), Shubham U-16 (Kullu) and Aryan Sohal U-16 (Kullu) on charges of indiscipline. It was decided that the Swachh Himachal campaign which was started in March 2016 by Governor Acharya Devvrat and HPCA president Anurag Thakur in Shimla would be continued till March 2017.
