Shivratri was celebrated with devotional fervor throughout the region today.

After participating in ‘Parbhaat Pheris’ devotees also visited various temples to offer milk, fruits to Lord Shiva.

At majority of localities including Railway road, Mahavir Road, Main Bazar, Chaura Bazar, Bhagat Singh Chowk and Gandhi Chowk; stalls were set up to serve prasad containing pudding, puris and pakoras.

In rural areas devotees paid their obeisance at various temples of Pohir, Payal, Rohira, Dehlon, Barundi, Malaudh and Kanganwal.

Social media too emerged as a tool to convey greetings on occasion of the festival. Members of all communities including Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims exchanged greetings on facebook and whatsapp.
