Director General of Police Suresh Arora today handed over the investigation in the Dinanagar terror attack to ADGP Prabodh Kumar. He has also been entrusted the inquiry into all cases of attacks on Shiv Sena and RSS shakhas. So far, it was being handled by ADGP Rohit Chowdhry.

Kumar has returned to the state after deputation with the CBI. ADGP (Railways) Rohit Chowdhry was heading a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Dinanagar attack till now. The ADGP had publicly raised some issues on the preparedness of the police after the Dinanagar attack. He had also written a letter to Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra who had criticised the police operation in Dinanagar in a function in New Delhi.

Important cases, including the Dinanagar attack, recovery of explosives from a railway track in Gurdaspur, attack on an RSS Shakha in Ludhiana, the recent murder of Durga Gupta in Khanna and two other cases of attacks on Shiv Sena activists will be supervised by him.

In addition, the DGP has also deputed Prabodh Kumar as the Nodal Officer from Punjab Police for effecting necessary liaison and co-ordination with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) regarding the Pathankot Airbase terrorist attack, the spokesman added.
