Jalandhar, January 13

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal today asked the voters to befool other political parties by taking money offered by them but voting for AAP.

“"All parties will give you money. Accept it in new denomination notes, but vote only for us," he said during a mohalla sabha here.

Kejriwal reiterated that his party would pick a Punjabi as the CM. He added, “I am the CM of Delhi. Punjab ka mukhya mantra main nahi ban sakta. Dilli walon ne mujhe zimmedari dee hai. Punjab ka CM Punjab ka aadmi hi banega – Dilli wala nahi banega.”

Arriving for a meeting in Jalandhar Cantonment three hours late, citing ill-health, Kejriwal skipped addressing the gathering at half of the scheduled spots. He addressed the gathering at Jalandhar Cantt (Dayanand Chowk) and Model Town, but did not get down from his vehicle at some places, including Jhandian Wala Peer Road, even though the stage had been set up for him.

Kejriwal’s cavalcade reportedly had over 20 vehicles at some places. Harbir Singh, Returning Officer, Jalandhar Central, said, “We have asked our teams to view the videos of Kejriwal’s roadshow. As per guidelines, if there are more than 10 vehicles in a cavalcade, a distance of at least 200 metres is to be kept between the first and second cavalcades. Holding up traffic amounts to code violation and laying of chairs (if permission has not been sought) also amount to a violation. We will look into the matter.”
