Abducted boy found dead

The Goindwal Sahib police have recovered the body of Jaskeerat Singh (14), son of industrialist Narinderjit Singh of Kapurthala from Fatehbad, 20 km from Tarn Taran, today.

Jaskeerat was abducted on April 11 at about 4 PM when he was on his way to a tuition centre from his house. The abductors had on a phone call demanded a ransom of Rs 30 lakh from his parents for the boy’s release. The boy was a student of Class IX.

The body was recovered from the Tarn Taran-Goindwal Sahib road in a gunny bag. Police sources said the boy was killed by strangulating his neck with a rope. The abductors threw acid on the face to hide his identification.
