The newborn girl who was found abandoned on Thursday was today handed over to Faridkot-based Radhakrishna Dham, an adoption agency.

At a small ceremony here, District Child Security officer Ranveer Kaur handed over the baby to NGO representatives Sandeep Garg and Deepak Sharma in the presence of Senior Medical Officer Dr LC Thukral, Nar Sewa Narain Sewa president Raju Charaya and Government Railway Police station incharge Balwinder Singh. They thanked Dr Satish Jain, who had treated the baby at his hospital. Notably, the baby was found covered by ants in shrubs near a railway track here on Thursday. — OC
