Suman Devi who was elected sarpanch of Fatehgarh village nine months ago has been running pillar to post to get charge of the panchayat as her predecessor, Sunil Kumar, has been on the run with the panchayat records.

Suman Devi stated that the panchayat had funds totalling Rs 1.5 crore in its account for development but the money cannot be withdrawn due to the ongoing problem.

“People come to me for fulfilling the promises made during the panchayat poll but I can do nothing as no proposal can be floated without getting possession of the records,” she said.

She alleged that the former sarpanch had committed large-scale irregularities in the panchayat records by siphoning funds meant for development. She said an FIR was registered against the ex-sarpanch in July but he was yet to be arrested.

She said she had knocked at every door right from from CM Window to the Bhiwani Deputy Commissioner but to no avail .

Dadri SDM Bijender Hooda said a search warrant has been issued against the former sarpanch and the police directed to produce him with the panchayat records.

Meanwhile, Bhiwani Deputy Commissioner Pankaj has ordered the Tosham SDM to probe the whole episode and get the original records handed over to the current sarpanch.
