600 cops deployed

Muktsar: The Muktsar police have decided to fortify the Punjab-Haryana border at Mandi Killianwali here from Wednesday in view of the INLD’s threat to enter Punjab and dig the SYL canal on February 23. “About 600 cops will be deployed along the border. Of them, 100 would be stationed at a special naka round the clock. Two SPs, three DSPs and five SHOs have been directed to keep a strict vigil on the movement of vehicles from Haryana,” said Dhruman H Nimbale, SSP. He said some CCTV cameras were already installed along the border. An anti-riot vehicle and two teargas squads will remain stationed there. tns
