50-point agenda formulated for state’s growth: CM

GURGAON: Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has said his government has formulated a 50-point agenda for the welfare of every section of society and overall development of the state during the golden jubilee year of Haryana’s foundation commencing from November 1.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has said his government has formulated a 50-point agenda for the welfare of every section of society and overall development of the state during the golden jubilee year of Haryana’s foundation commencing from November 1.

He was speaking at a function here today after unveiling the logo of Haryana Swarna Jyanti Utsav.

The logo comprises a white conch shell against a golden backdrop, with embossed images of lord Krishna’s Gita Sermon, an arrow and the number 50 encompassing the map of Haryana.

Haryana Swarna Jayanti celebrations are scheduled from November 1 to October 31, 2017.

“The agenda is to give jobs to youth, ensure the safety of women and their empowerment, polish the talent of sportspersons from villages, improve quality of education, give a boost to the industrial sector and strengthen the social fabric, and ensure welfare of farmers and labourers,” said the Chief Minister.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said, would be the chief guest at the inaugural function of the utsav to be organised in Gurgaon on November 1. Prominent personalities from several fields would be invited. “Various activities, including National Youth Festival, a meet of NRIs from Haryana, and National Sports Festival will be organised during the utsav to encapsulate state’s traditional art and culture, glorious history and heritage, and milestones crossed on the road to growth.”

The CM said the celebrations would focus on the Haryanavis’ contribution to the freedom struggle. “A plan has been chalked out to showcase the glorious past of the land of Vedas, Gita and Upanishads.”

Cultural items were presented, creating a patriotic atmosphere at the function.

Olympic medallists Sakshi Malik and Yogeshwar Dutt, Industry Minister Vipul Goyal, PWD Minister Rao Narbir Singh and Transport Minister Krishan Panwar were present.

Earlier, industrialists of the state also shared their views. These included Adesh Gupta from Liberty Group, Harbhajan Singh from Honda Motors, Harwinder Singh from Frigo Glass and Prabudha Kundu from Premas Biotech. They appreciated the government’s decision to celebrate the Swaran Jayanti year and offered their full support to make the celebrations a grand success.
