Mahendragarh: After Bhiwani’s Loharu subdivision, residents of five villages under Kanina subdivision have refused to become a part of newly formed Charkhi-Dadri district. The sarpanches and panches of Nautana, Syana, Pota, Baghot and Sehlanga villages have threatened to launch an agitation if the state government merges their villages with Charkhi Dadri.

“It is learnt that the government is contemplating to separate our village from Mahendragarh district without taking consent from the gram panchayat . Since Charkhi-Dadri does not have better education, health and other facilities as compared to Mahendragarh, we don’t want to become a part of this new district,” said Gajender, sarpanch of Nautana village.

Residents of these villages today submitted a memorandum to Deputy Speaker Santosh Yadav in Narnaul and made it clear that the gram panchayats of all five villages were opposed to merger with Charkhi Dadri.

The Deputy Speaker assured the villagers of taking up their case with Chief Minister Manohar Lal.
