CHANDIGARH:As many as 49 new cases of dengue were reported from various health institutions in the tricity and the surrounding areas today, taking the total number of dengue cases to 1,189.

As many as 49 new cases of dengue were reported from various health institutions in the tricity and the surrounding areas today, taking the total number of dengue cases to 1,189. Besides, one new case of chikungunya was also reported from Chandigarh.

As part of the preventive activities, the anti-malaria wing is carrying out daily fumigation, besides creating mass awareness and checking breeding sources such as coolers and containers. — TNS
