4-lane project-affected take up issue with MP

A delegtion of persons affected by the four-laning of the Kiratpur-Manali highway today met Mandi MP Ram Swaroop Sharma during his visit here at Pungh Chowk.

The delegation told the MP that the Land Acquisition Officer was allegedly adopting double standards while awarding compensation for land to be acquired for the Kiratpur-Manali four-laning project.

The MP told it that he had already taken up the matter with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari to ensure that a common formula should be drawn to give compensation to the affected persons.

He further assured them that he would meet the Union minister during the Lok Sabha session.
