39,393 ballot papers received so far

DEHRADUN: The Chief Electoral Office has received a total of 39,393 ballot papers from service voters and employees on poll duty.

The Chief Electoral Office has received a total of 39,393 ballot papers from service voters and employees on poll duty. The number of postal ballots received from Uttarkashi is 3,143; Chamoli 3,278; Rudraprayag 3,080; Tehri Garhwal 2,912; Dehradun 5,264; Haridwar 2,460; Pauri Garhwal 533; Pithoragarh 3,180; Bageshwar 2,048; Almora 2,102; Champawat 962, Nainital 2,094 and Udham Singh Nagar 3,537.

The Chief Electoral Office had issued a total of 95,801 postal ballot papers for service voters out of which 6,654 postal ballot papers have been received so far. The maximum number of 2,821 postal ballot papers has been received from Pauri Garhwal, followed by Chamoli (1,324), Rudraprayag (1,173), Dehradun (474), Tehri Garhwal (350), Uttarkashi (303), Pithoragarh (82), Haridwar (55), Bageshwar (22), Nainital (20), Udham Singh Nagar (14), Almora (12 )and four from Champawat.

The Chief Electoral Office had issued 47,315 postal ballot papers to employees on poll duty out of which 32,731 have been received. The maximum number of postal ballot that have been returned are 3,522 from Udham Singh Nagar, followed by 3,098 from Pithoragarh.

For the first time, the Election Commission had started the electronically transmitted postal ballot system for service voters. Through this system 337 postal ballots were issued, out of which only eight have been received. The last date of receiving the postal ballots is March 11, 8 am.
