Three people were killed in a major fire that broke out on the sixth floor of a luxury hotel in Neemrana last night.

The deceased identified as Rahul Jain (30), Saurabh Chauhan (28) and Suhas Nath (30) were employed in a Gurgaon-based company and had taken two rooms on the sixth floor of Cambay Sapphire Hotel.

According to sources, they had put laptops on charging at night. A short-circuit occurred around 3am and fire broke out in these rooms. The occupants screamed for help. The hotel staff tried to rescue them, but couldn’t get in. The trio died of suffocation and burns.

The police was informed about the fire at 3.22am. It was difficult to control the fire as it had broken out on the sixth floor. It could be contained only by 9 am. — TNS
