Muktsar, July 5

A local court today remanded three persons, who reportedly have links with Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang, in five-day police custody.

The Sadar Muktsar police yesterday arrested them when they, travelling in a Swift with fake registration number plates, allegedly sped past a police check-post. They were illegally carrying a .32 bore revolver, they said.

The trio has been identified as Sukhbir Singh, alias Sukha, of Jalandhar; Ravinder Kumar, alias Sonu, of Phagwara and Pritpal, alias Preet, of Fazilka. They have been booked under Sections 420, 468, 120-B, 149 of the IPC and various sections of the Indian Arms Act.

Gurpreet Singh Gill, SSP, Muktsar, said the trio was having a criminal background and efforts were on to arrest their associates.

The police said during interrogation, the accused revealed that they had an enmity with a rival group in Muktsar and they wanted to take revenge from the group. — TNS
