23 varieties of apple on display

Himachal Apple Festival, organised by the Department of Tourism and Horticulture in which 23 varieties of apples were displayed, was inaugurated by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh here today.

He appreciated the hard work of farmers who had produced a variety apples and also took keen interest in the food festival which showcased a variety of Himachali cuisine.

He also appreciated the efforts of the Tourism Department and the Hotel Association of Shimla for organising the festival and hoped that it could be a regular feature as the tourist could enjoy the food of various districts under a single canopy.

There were 300 entries and 23 participants displayed different varieties of flowers, besides an exotic vegetable show, including agrarian products.
