Mahendragarh, August 25

Residents of Taazipur and Mukundpur villages yesterday submitted a memorandum to district authority seeking high-level probe into the alleged proposed changes in the alignment of the 200-ft-wide road connecting the Integrated Multi-Modal Logistic Hub (IMLH) project site with National Highway-148B.

In the memorandum, the villagers said the shajra plan related to the project had been changed twice to benefit close associates of a local leader of the ruling party.

They also urged the state government not to approve the proposed amendments in the ‘shajra’ plan keeping in view farmers’ interests.

Sarpanches of 25 villages had demanded implementation of the proposed changes, stating the row was politically motivated and BJP MLA from Nangal Choudhary Abhay Singh Yadav had nothing to do with the modifications.

Meanwhile, a proposed meeting of the committee that looks after the project has been postponed for the second time. It will now be convened on August 27.

Mahendragarh Deputy Commissioner Raj Narayan Kaushik told The Tribune that this time, the meeting had been postponed following a request from MP Dharambir Singh.
