New Delhi, October 3

Noted personalities of the Sikh community from various countries expressed concerns over the trend of drift from the philosophy and tenets of Sikh Gurus among a section of its members and urged them to tap into their teachings to edify themselves for the uplift of society.

This was during the sixth edition of the annual Sikh Awards-2015, which was instituted by a non-government organisation, headed by Navdeep Singh Bansal, who has his roots in Punjab.

They said moving away from the teachings of the gurus would lead to the erosion of the Sikh identity and would be an invitation to social and health perils.
