One person was shot at in a road rage incident at Nagrota Bagwan on Wednesday night.

Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Kangra, Surender Sharma said today that two youths — Ashu from Nagrota Bagwan and Jat from Punjab —got into an altercation with Sanjeev Thakur of Nagrota Bagwan over some parking issue. He said according to the victim, Sanjeev, Jat shot at him.

He was rushed to Dr Rajinder Prasad Government Medical college Hospital, Tanda, where he is undergoing treatment.

The SDPO said both the accused were absconding.

He said Nagrota Bagwan Station House Officer Inder Singh had been placed under suspension for performing his duty with laxity.

He said the SHO did not inform either him or the Kangra district police chief regarding the incident and even did not visit the spot personally and assigned the job to an ASI.
