The local administration has earmarked 1,508 booths for the upcoming three-tier zila panchayat elections in the district.

The delimitation of the constituencies and reservation of seats is in the final stage, and suggestions and complaints are being sought from political parties and local representatives in this regard.

Chief Development Officer(CDO) Sonika is reviewing the preparations for the elections on regular basis.

During a meeting at Roshanabad Vikas Bhawan today, Sonika directed officials to prepare the final list of Zonal Magistrates, Sector Magistrates and returning officers for the smooth conduct of elections.

The CDO has set December 5 as the deadline for preparing the final route chart and plan for all administrative and electoral related procedures.

“Officials have been directed to finalise the list of employees for the poll duty within a week and make all poll-related arrangements. The voters’ list is also being revised by Block Development Officers,” said Sonika.

Additional District Magistrate Jeevan Singh Nangiyal, ADM (Finance) Ravneet Chima, Project Director SS Chauhan, District Education Officer Ajay Naudiyal, Statistical Officer RK Asthana, NIC Official Sanjay Kumar, ARTO Manish Kumar,Tehsidlar Lakshar Prakash Shah, District Election Officer RR Thapliyal and Block Development Officers attended the meeting.
