Dehradun, January 11

The Traffic Police will disseminate information about rules and road safety in the local Kumaoni, Garhwali and Jaunsari dialects. Most of these messages, which are recorded, are disseminated in the Hindi language.

DGP Anil Raturi has directed the officials to use the local dialects while disseminating information about traffic rules and road safety from traffic booths.

At a review meeting  presided over by Raturi, emphasis was laid on making people understand the  road safety and traffic rules in their own language, which would help in better understanding in rural areas and compliance.

The emphasis was also laid on the need of creating new parking lots in all districts.

A decision was also taken to appoint 100  traffic constables in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar 30 each in Pauri and Tehri and also look for new parking places.

The meeting was attended by DGP Anil Raturi,  IG law and order Deepam Seth, DIG Garhwal Pushpak Jyoti and DIG/Director Traffic Kewal Khurana.
