Woman, live-in partner held in Vasant Vihar triple murder case

A 42-year-old woman and her live-in partner were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly killing an elderly couple and their nursing attendant in south-west Delhi's Vasant Vihar area.

The accused duo, Preeti Sehrawat who is a Hotel Management diploma holder and Manoj Bhat (39) a school dropout, were nabbed from Gurugram, the police said.

The bodies of the elderly couple, Vishnu Mathur (78) and Shashi Mathur (75), and their nursing attendant, Khushbu Nautiyal (24), were found with their throats slit on Sunday morning. Domestic help, Babli, who was also employed by the elderly couple, had informed the police. Babli reached the elderly couple's house at 8.40 am and found the couple lying in a pool of blood. In another room, Khushbu was also found dead, the DCP said. CCTV footage was taken from which the police have found crucial evidence, the officer said.

According to the police, the accused duo knew the family and Preeti was a close family friend of the couple. Her father was also a colleague of one of the deceased. Interrogation of the accused duo revealed that the killings were executed to rob the Mathurs.
