Warns against confining kids; directs stern action for fee hike

CM Kejriwal today warned the Rabea Public School authorities of strict action for allegedly confining 16 kindergarten children in its basement over non-payment of fee and said a probe would be ordered into the matter.

“Such small and cute kids. Interacted wid them and their parents this morning. They were kept in a room whole day by school authorities allegedly for not paying fee in time. Del govt will take strong action against guilty,” tweeted Kejriwal.

The CM today visited the school along with his deputy Manish Sisodia and Environment Minister Imran Hussain, also the MLA from Ballimaran constituency under which the school comes.

Apart from the students and parents, Kejriwal interacted with the school’s principal  Naheed Usmani and warned her against such treatment towards children. The government will order a probe and will take action with the police.

Kejriwal has also directed his government to take stern action against Bal Bharti Public School for increasing its fees by 10 per cent for session 2017-18 in the name of implementing 7th pay panel.

The school has been directed to submit a compliance report in a month. If the increased fee is already charged for the session, it’ll be refunded to the parents  or adjusted in the subsequent months. The school is having a surplus fund of Rs 110,835,825, read a statement issued by the government.
