UTTIPEC nods to plans for Metro stns

NEW DELHI:The Unified Traffic and Transportation Infrastructure (Planning and Engineering) or UTTIPEC has approved conceptual Multi-Modal Integration (MMI) plans for 60 DMRC Phase-III Metro stations and 10 MMI plans for existing Metro stations (Phase I and Phase II).

The Unified Traffic and Transportation Infrastructure (Planning and Engineering) or UTTIPEC has approved conceptual Multi-Modal Integration (MMI) plans for 60 DMRC Phase-III Metro stations and 10 MMI plans for existing Metro stations (Phase I and Phase II).

The MMI is planning of the immediate zone around Metro stations to integrate ISBT, local bus stand, feeder buses, wherever feasible it also includes to approach roads, pedestrian walkways, parking areas for various modes including feeder buses, inter-mediary para transits (auto, shuttle bus, e-rickshaw) and adequate public conveniences to improve the last mile connectivity and the traffic around Metro stations.

Under the chairmanship of Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal and attendees from DMRC, PWD, VC- DDA and police, the UTTIPEC made detailed presentation on the status of implementation of MMI plans by executing agencies (DMRC and PWD) based on site inspection in respect of the metro stations including Kashmere Gate, Nehru Enclave, Nehru Place, South Campus (Dhaula Kuan), Moti Bagh and Mayur Vihar Phase-I Metro stations.
