In Sangam Vihar, two suicides were reported on November 11, in which one woman hanged herself in the kitchen. In another incident, a woman drank acid. When she was taken to the hospital, doctors declared her brought dead.

Khushbu (20), resident of Badau (UP) came to her sister in Sangam Vihar. According to the family of the deceased, she was going to get married next month. For some reason, she was upset but didn’t discuss with anyone as to what was bothering her. She also wanted to go back to Badau, mother of the deceased said.

Yesterday at around 10.15am, neighbours saw her bringing milk. But, around 3.30 pm, she was found hanging to a ceiling hook in the kitchen, she said.

As per police sources, no foul play has been ascertained in the post-mortem report. The body was handed over to the family.

The woman who committed suicide had six sisters and three brothers, and she was the youngest in the family.

In the second incident, Dhaneshwari (45), who consumed toilet acid to commit suicide on November 11.

She was rushed to AIIMS, where she expired during medication without giving any statement, said police.

As per the children and husband’s statements, she has been suffering from depression for 20 years and was under treatment from Safdurjung Hospital.

As per SHO Sangam Vihar, no foul play is suspected in the death.
