New Delhi, December 7

Two more persons have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the killing of Jindal family woman, her three daughters and their security guard in Mansarovar Park here in October, said a police official today.

Seven people were involved in the killings and five of them were arrested yesterday. Two more accused, Nitin and Deepak, both aged 30, were arrested around 4 am by the crime branch, the official said.

The killings were carried out with an intention to commit robbery and the mastermind of the plan was the security guard, who was killed by his son and son-in-law. Rs 14 lakh and jewellery worth Rs 30-40 lakh was robbed, he said.

The bodies of Urmila Jindal (82), her daughters Sangeeta Gupta (56), Nupur Jindal (48) and Anjali Jindal (38) and security guard Rakesh (42) were found with multiple stab wounds on the morning of October 7.

After thorough interrogation, the security guard's son- in-law, Vikas, had confessed to his involvement in the killings.

He was arrested, following which the guard's son, Anuj (25), and their associates Sunny (22) Vikash, alias Vicky, and Neeraj (37), were also arrested.

The official said Rakesh wasn't murdered at the spur of the moment. His son had nursed a deep-rooted hatred for him since childhood.

Rakesh's wife brought up the children in poverty as he spent most of his wages on liquor and other women, sources said. He seldom went home and sent money across whenever his wife argued with him over phone. Once Anuj grew up, he took to crime to support himself and his mother.

According to Joint Commissioner (crime) Alok Kumar, it was on Raksha Bandhan this year that Rakesh went to his Baghpat home after a long time. He had a heated argument with his family members who accused him of not taking care of them. Rakesh promised to end their misery for good and shared his idea to get rich with his son and son-in-law. Both of them readily agreed to do the job. Vikas and his colleague, Sunny both worked at GTB Hospital, outlined a plan and roped in others.

Speaking to a crime branch officer who was involved in cracking the case, said a relative of the Jindals, Rajesh, said they had informed the police that somebody from Rakesh's family could be involved as they were aware of his son's criminal background.
