Two arrested for thefts

South-west district police has arrested two thieves - Raju (24) and Vikram Timoli (22) - both resident of Palam Colony. Police recovered stolen mobile phone, one power bank and two expensive goggles and solved seven cases of theft, said police.

In view of incidents of theft from cars at Sagarpur, Kailashpuri, motorcycle patrol were intensified and sources were deployed to get clues about movements of criminals active in the area.

On July 14, during patrolling, police received an information regarding theft at Peer Baba ground, Kailash Puri by breaking the side glass of the car, on receiving the information police staff deployed additional picket and intensified checking and succeeded in apprehending two suspects namely Raju and Vikram after a long chase while he was attempting to escape.

On sustained interrogation, the accused persons disclosed the offence committed previously in the area of Sagarpur and Palam Village, and several other incidents of theft in the past, said DCP Devender Arya. — TNS
