Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today inspected construction work at 164 classrooms of four government schools in South Delhi.

The Deputy Chief Minister visited four schools in the area to review the progress of the construction of classrooms. The Arvind Kejriwal government has made a plan to build 13,003 classrooms in the government schools to ensure adequate number of classrooms to accommodate children who don't get school education.

"I want daily progress of these four schools and please escalate if the work stops even for a day," said Sisodia during his visit .

Sisodia, also the Education Minister, is visiting schools regularly to check the construction work.

"Four schools, 164 classrooms under construction? Pushed team to plan in such a way that there is more open space in the middle for various activities. That was about the morning visit today in #DelhiGovtSchools in Pushp Vihar, Shahpur Jat, Safdarjung Enclave & Greenpark Ext (sic)," tweeted the Education Minister.

MLAs Saurabh Bharadwaj and Somnath Bharti also accompanied him during his visit at schools in their respective constituencies.

"It is good to see green spaces in schools, the lawn at SKV Gargi, Greenpark Extension. Kudos to such talented estate managers, the Principal and the teachers," said Sisodia.

While talking to the school principals and the PWD architects, he insisted on de-cluttering the schools by keeping an open space between the newly constructed campuses for various activities in the future. After completion, these classrooms would enable thousands of students to study who may probably be out of schools right now, he said.
