Days after two kids fell ill allegedly after consuming midday meal here, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia today warned of strict action to contractors against lapses after he found "small deficiencies" during surprise inspections of mid-day meal kitchens.

Noting that such inspections will be regular, Sisodia said school management committees will also be entrusted with the task of inspecting mid-day meal kitchens in the city.

"Found deficiencies in kitchens and instructions will be issued to officials and contractors to ensure hygiene level, including wearing gloves, shoes cover and headgear inside kitchens," said Sisodia, who was accompanied by his officials for the inspection.

No one will be allowed to compromise with children’s health, Sisodia warned during the inspection. The two kids fell sick after allegedly consuming mid-day meal in which a dead lizard was found in a school at East of Kailash.
