The police have taken a significant step to increase awareness about safety and security of women.
In a joint campaign of Delhi Police with a company ‘Shuttl’ (an app-based office bus service with a fleet of 350 buses) displayed safety messages on its buses.
These messages are talking about Himmat app, women helpline number and Sashakti training. The helpline no. 1091 will also be displayed on the buses.
Messages on women empowerment and anti-terrorism on both sides of buses are displayed. There is a poster on Himmat App displayed inside the bus behind the cabin of driver. The company ‘Shuttl” has more than 30,000 people travel every day. It will help boost the download of the Himmat app.
Depender Pathak, Special Commissioner of Police Traffic and chief spokesperson today flagged off 25 buses which were a part of the first phase of 100 buses of Shuttle at Rajghat Gate. Co-founder of “Shuttl”, Amit Singh (IIT Delhi) was also present on the occasion and offered himself on behalf of Shuttl to partner with the police in their effort to make Delhi a safe city. He said that he is happy to offer his network of coaches to spread awareness for Himmat App and Helpline no 1091.
Pathak who flagged of the buses said, “Delhi police will continue to make it safe for women to live, work and travel within the city. We will continue to partner, in any way possible, with credible organizations in this regard.”
