CRPF man dies as teen rams Mercedes into car

NEW DELHI:A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constable was killed and two others were injured when a London college student rammed his Mercedes into their car after traffic lights violation in South Delhi’s Greater Kailash 1 on Thursday.

A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constable was killed and two others were injured when a London college student rammed his Mercedes into their car after traffic lights violation in South Delhi’s Greater Kailash 1 on Thursday.

The police on Friday said Constable Narender Khateek (34) resident of Kishangarh (Rajasthan) succumbed to his injuries while Constable Vinod Kumar (36) and Babulal Yadav (38) were discharged after treatment. They reside at the quarters in Sector 4, Pushp Vihar, the police said.

Father-in-law of the CRPF constable was hit by a bus in Manesar near Gurgaon while he was headed for the national capital after being informed about the tragic incident, his family members said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Vijay Singh said an FIR has been registered and Sanidhya was arrested under Section 279/337 of the IPC, but later released on bail. The DCP said in such incidents, if accused is not under any intoxication and holds a driving licence, he is liable to get bail. The vehicles had been seized. No presence of alcohol in anybody's medico legal case report had been reported, he said.
