Rs 500 cr for development of unauthorised colonies

NEW DELHI:The Urban Development Department on Friday released Rs 500 crore to the Department of Irrigation and Flood Control to carry out basic development works in the unauthorised colonies in the Capital.

The Urban Development Department on Friday released Rs 500 crore to the Department of Irrigation and Flood Control to carry out basic development works in the unauthorised colonies in the Capital.

The fund had been transferred to the department under the head of “Development of Unauthorised Colonies” for the financial year 2019-2020.

The CM directed the department to ensure there was no financial constraint and funds must be released on time.

The total budget allocation for the development of illegal colonies in the current financial year was Rs 1,500 crore. Of it, Rs 500 crore had been released to the Department of Irrigation and Flood Control for the development works, it said. — TNS
