A Nigerian national was arrested by the police on Thursday for duping several people under a fraudulent scheme. 

The matter came to light after two persons, who were duped of more than Rs 1.5 crore, approached the police, the officials said. 

Anyesh Roy, DCP Cyber Crime Unit, said, “Gilbert Okoye Pedro, who was staying illegally in India, used to make fake companies and lure victims to buy oils at cheaper rates.”
