Gangster held from Lucknow

NEW DELHI: The police have arrested a gangster, Vijay Farmana ,who was involved in 11 murder cases and robberies of luxurious cars, a police official said today.

The police have arrested a  gangster, Vijay Farmana ,who was involved in 11 murder cases and robberies of luxurious cars, a police official said today.

Farmana was arrested from a shopping mall in Lucknow on May 15.

Farmana, a resident of Sonepat, has confessed that he had committed nine murders and two attempts to murder.

Farmana, along with his other gang members, had robbed many luxurious cars at a gun-point. After looting the car, they abandoned the drivers on highways and later sold the robbed cars in Nepal, he said.

A reward of Rs 50,000 was announced by both the Delhi and Haryana police on him.

The gangster had gone to the mall to meet one of his girlfriends, the official said, adding that on seeing the police, Farman tried to flee. When the police team tried to chase him, he pulled out a pistol and tried to fire at them, but he was overpowered and arrested. — TNS
