New Delhi, May 16

A man killed his four-year-old daughter yesterday in Nihal Vihar, a police official said today.

DCP Sezu P Kuruvilla said yesterday a PCR received a call regarding the murder of a four-year-old girl by her father. But when the police team reached the spot, it found no one at the given address.

On enquiry from neighbours, it was revealed that Malkit Singh (30), a resident of Sant Garh, Tilak Nagar, seems to have murdered his daughter and fled the spot with his wife and body of the girl, the DCP said.

Finally, the accused was found at his Tilak Nagar residence along with his wife Simran Kaur (28) and the body of four-year-old Kirat Kaur, the DCP said.

On interrogation, it was revealed that Singh had a stressful relationship with his wife. There used to be regular fights between them, due to which they both decided to commit suicide and send their daughter to her grandparents, he said.

However, in the intervening night of May 14 and 15, Singh strangled his daughter. When Simran woke up, she found something suspicious and raised an alarm, on which neighbours called police.

An FIR has been registered at the Nihal Vihar Police Station and Singh has been arrested, DCP added.

Man kills mother's live-in partner; arrested

A 20-year-old man arrested for killing the live-in partner of his mother yesterday in Dwarka, said a police official.

The accused, Yogender, alias Kunal, slit the neck of the victim. Thereafter, he called police and committed to his crime, said the official.

Yogender's 45-year-old mother got into a live-in relationship with 27-year-old Devender in 2011 after her husband's death in 2010. She also has a seven-year-old son from Devender.

But for the past few days, both were indulged in regular fights on petty issues, said Yogender in his statement.

He also said Devender was keeping a bad eye on a 15-year-old girl of the family.
