New Delhi, April 20

The opening of a centralised control room for the Lok Sabha elections in the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee headquarters may be a cue that the party Congress will fight on all seven Parliamentary seats.

The control room was inaugurated today by DPCC president Sheila Dikshit, who had always opposed an alliance with AAP.

Former DPCC president Ajay Maken and senior AICC leader and Delhi affairs in-charge PC Chacko were in favour of alliance, said sources. However, with today’s development, it seems that Sheila and her group has been successful in convincing the party high command, said sources.

The centralised control room will co-ordinate with control rooms in all seven constituencies in Delhi. There are seven desks at the control room to collate information from all constituencies, including detailed campaign schedule, meetings and other programmes of candidates. There is also a separate legal desk.

The control room will use social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Shakti App, WhatsApp, SMS and voice call extensively for the election campaign.

Former Delhi minister Narendra Nath said Congress president Rahul Gandhi had allowed the use of the Shakti App at the control room.
