New Delhi, September 23

Aiming to combat and prevent crime against women like molestation, eve-teasing and make public places safer for women, west district has started a special officer oriented patrolling in the areas which have high female footfall or prone to street crime.

“The main motive of the initiative was to instill greater sense of security in the girls and women moving on road and at public place and to motivate policewomen by making the system more inclusive for them and putting them in the forefront of field policing,” said DCP Monika Bhardwaj.

During patrolling, the DCP interacted with the public at Pacific Mall, TC Camp Shyam Nagar Jhuggi clusters and Tilak Nagar main market, listened to their grievances and also sorted out some of the issues at the spot.
