In a bizarre incident a 35-year-old man was allegedly killed by his neighbour inside the Ambedkar Nagar Police Station, Southeast Delhi, in the early hours today, a police official said.

Taking the incident seriously, the SHO has been sent to district lines, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Romil Baaniya.

He also said a sub-inspector and a constable posted there have been suspended and directed to report to district lines. The administrative action was taken against the personnel for failing to prevent the killing inside the police station, the DCP said.

Vishal had asked Anil to treat him with liquor since it was the birthday of the latter's child. But when Anil refused, it led to a quarrel between them, the DCP said.

The police were informed about the incident and the quarrelling duo was brought to the police station. Inside the investigating officer's room the duo again started quarrelling.

Police intervened but in the melee Vishal assaulted Anil with a file clip. Anil was rushed to AIIMS Trauma Centre where he was declared "brought dead", the official said, adding Vishal has been arrested from the spot.
