Man held with gold concealed in rectum

NEW DELHI:On the basis of intelligence report, the officers of Air Customs Preventive IGI Airport intercepted a male passenger, aged 30 years who had arrived from Bangkok to IGI Airport Terminal-3 who intended to depart to Amritsar.

On the basis of intelligence report, the officers of Air Customs Preventive IGI Airport intercepted a male passenger, aged 30 years who had arrived from Bangkok to IGI Airport Terminal-3 who intended to depart to Amritsar.

A detailed personal and baggage search of the passenger resulted in the recovery of four gold cut pieces total weighing 995 grams concealed in his rectum.

The recovered gold bars have been sealed by the customs department.

The market value of the seized gold bars works out to be more than Rs 31 lakh. 

The passenger has been placed under arrest and further investigation is under progress said Anubha Sinha Joint Commissioner of Customs (IGI Airport).
