Kashmiri Pandits bow to Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib

NEW DELHI: Welcoming the announcement of “Sanmaan Yatra” by Kashmiri Pandits, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) president, Manjit Singh (GK) said there was no need to show regret on the martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib.

Welcoming the announcement of “Sanmaan Yatra” by Kashmiri Pandits, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) president, Manjit Singh (GK) said there was no need to show regret on the martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib.

He said, “You do not need to show regret on the martyrdom of Guru Sahib. Guru Sahib gave martyrdom for the protection of humanity.”

The heads of Kashmiri Pandit today announced the "Sanmaan Yatra” to aware people about the martyrdom given by ninth guru of the Sikh community, Guru Teg Bahadar for protection of religion and humanity. The yatra will be launched on January 5 from Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib to Takhat Shri Anandpur Sahib.

After the bow to martyrdom place in Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib, Punjabi film actress Preeti Sapru and 51 Kashmiri Pandits informed the DSGMC about their preparation for the yatra.

Preeti said this was being done to inform children of Kashmiri Pandits about the sacrifice of the Guru for them and the entire humanity.

There was huge contribution of the sacrifice of the Guru for existence of Hinduism in the country. Kashmiri Pandits took help from Guru Teg Bahadar Sahib. “But probably we did not give respect to martyrdom of Guru Sahib,” she said.

GK said the bow to Guru Sahib from Kashmiri Pandits would encourage the community.
