Power minister Satyendar Jain today inaugurated 100 kW solar PV panel on the rooftop of the Vidhan Sabha building.

The panel worth Rs 7.35 lakh would help to save the electricity bills of the secretariat by up to Rs 10 lakh per annum. The life span of solar power plant will be 25 years.

In the second phase, 100 kW more solar PV panel will be installed in Vidhan Sabha premises very soon, said Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel while speaking at the occasion.

Jain also inaugurated rain water harvesting system at the Vidhan Sabha Complex for environment protection in the presence of the speaker and several other MLAs.

“The total number of pots will be five and volume of water in pots will be 440,000 litres. The total cost of this project is 36 lakhs,” said the government in a statement.
