International drug cartel busted, two held

NEW DELHI:A team of Northern Range, Special Cell, has busted an international drug cartel and arrested its two key players Nitin Gupta and Hefajuddin from Mahipalpur and three kgs of high grade heroin worth Rs 12 crore in the international market have been recovered from their possession.

A team of Northern Range, Special Cell, has busted an international drug cartel and arrested its two key players Nitin Gupta and Hefajuddin from Mahipalpur and three kgs of high grade heroin worth Rs 12 crore in the international market have been recovered from their possession.

The Special Cell in its drive against drug suppliers busted several narcotic drugs cartels in the past by arresting their members. Sleuths of Special Cell of Northern Range were working on information that an international narcotic drug cartel was active in the states of Manipur, UP, Delhi, Punjab.

Members of this cartel are involved in supplying heroin in Delhi, NCR, UP, Punjab and also in Nepal.

The information was developed during which members of this cartel were identified and their activities kept under surveillance.

On February 21, Hafizuddin, an important member of this cartel arrived in Delhi with the consignment of heroin to be handed over to a Delhi-based conduit near the Hotel Smart Stay, Mahipalpur.

Accordingly, a crack team police team apprehended the duo.
