IGI airport police switch to e-reporting

NEW DELHI:To ease it for the the passengers and travelers at the IGI Airport here — one of the busiest airports in the world with a record footfall — police have switched to e-reporting by installing a 24x7 Delhi Police Facilitation Kiosk and Interactive Panel at forecourt of T-3.

To ease it for the the passengers and travelers at the IGI Airport here — one of the busiest airports in the world with a record footfall — police have switched to e-reporting by installing a 24x7 Delhi Police Facilitation Kiosk and Interactive Panel at forecourt of T-3.

The services in this hi-tech kiosk is manned by police officers round the clock for assistance. The idea behind the commissioning of this kiosk is to provide better police related services at one-point without requiring public to search and go to the police station and thereby saving vital time of the passengers. Later, this facility would be extended to terminals T-1 and T-2, said DCP Sanjay Bhatia (airport).

LG Anil Baijal, in the presence of Amulya Patnaik, Commissioner of Police, inaugurated the kiosk having interactive panel for facilitation of online services of the police. The airport will provide services of filing lost and found reports, missing reports, registration of e-FIR, lodging of complaints, motor vehicle theft e-FIR, theft e-FIR, stolen vehicle search, reporting of economic and cyber offences and filing of RTI, he said.

Later, LG launched ‘Prahari’ scheme for the airport unit of Delhi Police. Prahari is a force multiplier community-policing scheme of Delhi Police to ensure active participation of private security guards and chowkidars aiming to take the policing at higher level.

IGI Airport Unit has enrolled 600 praharies from 11 Hotels and three commercial centers of Aerocity and other institutions of the airport complex. — TNS
