Girl attacked with acid

New Delhi, March 22

A girl was attacked with acid allegedly by her boyfriend in Sangam Vihar this morning.

A PCR call was received around 11 am. The victim, Priyanka, a resident of Sangam Vihar, was admitted to AIIMS hospital with burn injuries.

The accused, Ravi Kumar, also a resident of Sangam Vihar, latter surrendered at the local police station and admitted to the crime. He said that he threw diluted acid (toilet cleaner) on the girl. As he had some suspicion that the girl was talking to a boy and was in relationship with him. He couldn’t stand this and took the extreme step. He added that earlier he had cautioned the girl to not get involved with anybody else as he loved the girl, said a police official.

The girl is still in hospital and having some burn injuries, according to DCP Romilla Baniya (south east).

To clarify the chemical used in the incident the sample has been taken for seeking the FSL report, and meanwhile, a case has been registered against the boy under Section 336A of the IPC, added the DCP.
