New Delhi, March 16

A gangster was shot dead in broad daylight in Maurya Enclave, Pitampura, today, said a police official. The assailants, who are said to be four to five in numbers, fired indiscriminately at Monu Mann as he came out of Rohini court and standing near a “paan” shop. The shop owner, Sandeep (25) also received bullet injuries and is admitted to a nearby hospital.

Mann (24), along with his accomplice Digvijay, was in Rohini court in connection to an attempt-to-murder case of 2014. Today around 1 pm, a group of men, who were probably waiting for the victim, fired at him pumping several bullets in his body before fleeing the spot.

Digvijay, however, escaped the assault. Mann died on the spot. The condition of the injured is said to be critical.

The shootout is said to be the result of rivalry between two gangs, Gogi gang and Tillu gang. Mann is said to be from Gogi gang.

Police and forensic teams reached the spot and collected all the evidences. The CCTV camera footage is also monitored to get some clue.
